Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

The depiction of a young Gordie Howe is featured on his all-important 1951-52 Parkhurst rookie card, with the Saskatchewan native already a young stud at the time, claiming his first of four consecutive NHL scoring championships the season prior to Parkhurst’s landmark release. His ’50-51 goal (43) and assist (43) totals appear on the front of famous card #66, with this example receiving a mark of VG-EX 4 from PSA. Pleasing centering is an attribute, as is its crease-free state, with light wear at the corners a little more evident at the upper left. A small region of toning on the back is also to mention. Howe again posted 86 points, including 47 goals, to lead the league in ’51-52 and he and his teammates, considered one of the most potent teams in hockey history, swept through the playoffs in eight straight games, taking care of the Maple Leafs and then Canadiens to claim their second Stanley Cup championship in three seasons. A couple of light scuffs to the front of the older PSA holder are to note, with the Howe RC an absolute must for an important rookie card collection.
