Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Perennial scorers throughout their careers with each especially talented at putting the puck in the net, Wayne Gretzky’s famous 92 goals during the 1981-82 NHL season remains the highest single-season total in history – with this record surely to stand the test of time – while Maurice Richard was the very first to plot 50 in a single campaign. This framed display features a photo of The Great One receiving a wood carving from the Rocket in 1982, in recognition of his record goal-scoring season, along with pucks individually signed by the duo. At 12” x 14”, the modern copy of the black and white image pictures the two legends during the presentation, with a plaque inserted beneath listing the particulars. The team pucks have been placed at the base, with each signed in thin gold ink, with the signatures flawless. Framed to full dimensions of approx 21” x 26”, there is some wear to the frame to note, with WGA COAs to accompany for each signed puck.
