Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

An interesting variety to tell you about here, with a 28-card set of 1972-73 O-Pee-Chee Team Canada inserts leading chronologically. Mostly crease-free cards are for the most part in the VG+ to EX range, with staining to note above the image of Ken Dryden. The World Hockey Association is represented by a set of 66 from ’77-78, with the #1 card of Gordie Howe (VG) bettered by the rest (mostly EX, EX+ and EX-MT). Three near or complete sets of NHL cards contribute, with just a Darryl Sittler card required to finish off a ’76-77 ensemble, headlined by a Bryan Trottier RC (VG+) and featuring mostly VG to VG-EX examples. A group of ’82-83s is three cards (#s 21, 197, 391) shy of completion, with cards stored in 9-pocket pages exhibiting definite handling/wear and not high grade; Fuhr RC and Gretzky are multi-creased and but F. A complete 396-card set from ’83-84 also is not all that nice for ‘80s material, with varying degrees of corner dings observed. Much nicer is a ’78-79 Topps Mike Bossy RC, graded 7 NM by KSA. Pleasing centering contributes to the eye appeal, although the back is miscut. There is sticker action involved, with ’82-83 OPC stickers still in their original wrap of the day and an ’83-84 OPC sticker stack also presumed to be complete but not verified. Empty sticker albums for both are present and exhibit light cover wear. Completing are miscellaneous stickers and cards, including ’85-86 Topps All-Star Sticker Inserts (32/33 – missing Gretzky), ’88-89 Esso All-Stars (with empty album) and ’87-88 OPC Mini Leaders (set of 42). Lots of possibilities/decisions for the high bidder here.
