Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Backstopping Team Canada to victory over the Russians in the semifinal of the 1984 Canada Cup, Pete Peeters spent parts of thirteen seasons guarding NHL creases, with four All-Star Game appearances made while also earning the Vezina Trophy in 1983. This stick was used by Peeters during the twilight of his career in the late-1980s, most likely with Washington, with the possibility of use during the first season of his second stint in Philadelphia, in 1989-90. A Sher-Wood PMPG model with “Peeters” and “1” stamped to the upper shaft (Peeters wore #1 with Washington, and #33 with Philadelphia), the original white tape remains on the blade and knob. Showing nice game-use, the striping accent over the paddle is intact, with heavy marks and wear to the taped section of blade including red paint transfer. The tape over the knob has also darkened with time.
