Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
Those fascinated by error cards and/or one-of-a-kind rarities and/or Parkhurst’s inaugural hockey card issue will be intrigued with this surely unique production. As you can see, an image of New York Ranger Jack McLeod’s rookie card and another partial image of it appears, along with the text and a smidgen of Hall of Famer Ted Lindsay’s RC. “No. 98 in the “Parkie” 1951-52 Hockey Series” is printed in red below the image of McLeod but curiously, the similar identifier of the Lindsay card is not present. A side-to-side crease in the middle of the card (standard ’51-52 Parkie size) is visible, as are lighter vertical and diagonal creases below it, with evidence of the card once having been affixed on the reverse. Our consignor had framed the card in a nifty fashion, with “ONLY ONE” above and a list of the different perceived errors below. As Johnny Carson used to say “weird, wild stuff.”
