Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers after four seasons in the WHL with Moose Jaw, Ryan Smyth is a veteran of over 1,200 NHL contests, and has won gold representing Canada at each and every international level. From his time with Los Angeles, we have a photo-matched Kings jersey worn by the IIHF Hall of Fame member in 2010-11, specifically in 13 contests according to the accompanying AEG document. A CCM label with “58” sizing is affixed to the collar (there is also an attached team store price tag), with NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with a textured Kings’ crown crest with embroidered detailing, the solid black V-neck garment has been accented with silver sleeve and verso numbers with purple trim, with alternate crests over each shoulder. Sporting heavy game-use with burns and transfer marks over each sleeve along with a small group or team repairs near the left elbow, there are also small single holes over each elbow section. A small velcro patch has also been added to the lower reverse, with this a common trait on Smyth gamers. The team patch resides on the inside hem, with a team COA and the aforementioned AEG document to accompany.
The jersey was specifically worn in the following contests according to the AEG document; Oct 15th vs VAN, Oct 20th vs CAR, Oct 30th vs NJD, Nov 4th vs TBL, Nov 6th vs NSH, Nov 11th vs DAL, Noc 13th vs NYI, Nov 17th vs CBJ, Nov 27th vs CHI, Dec 2nd vs FLA, Dec 4th vs DET, Dec 9th vs CGY and Dec 11th vs MIN. Getty Image #107535062 (Dec 11, 2010) has been matched to the white transfer marks near the left elbow, with the small burn mark with resulting hole also visible, while Getty Image #107697576 (Dec 9, 2010) has been matched to the two white transfer marks over the left elbow, with their placement perfectly matching.
