Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Chronicling the epic Canada-Russia tournament in 1972 that remains widely regarded as the greatest international series ever played, we offer a copy of the hard cover work Twenty-Seven Days in September, with this edition augmented with over 50 signatures from mostly Team Canada participants. Featuring a number of beautiful signed photo pages including Vladislav Tretiak, Ken Dryden and Paul Henderson, along with a two-sheet Team Canada team photo spread signed by 9, signers within the desirable volume include the aforementioned Dryden, Tretiak and Henderson, along with HOFers Phil Esposito, Yvan Cournoyer, Marcel Dionne, Brad Park, Guy Lapointe, Serge Savard and Frank Mahovlich, as well as a few others including Don Awrey, Wayne Cashman, Pete Mahovlich and JP Parise. A number of players have signed multiple times, with each signature scripted in thin gold ink. The book itself shows just light wear to the interior pages, with a couple small blemishes to the cover and edge tears and heavy toning to the dust jacket.
