The city of Vancouver’s longest tenured professional sports franchise, the BC Lions began play in the CFL in 1954 and have claimed six Grey Cup titles. The club holds the second-longest playoff streak in CFL history, making the playoffs every season from the 1997 CFL season to the 2016 CFL season. This lot offers a great collection of Lions items including a rarely-seen Woodward’s Quarterback Club canvas patch from 1965 (6” x 6 ¼”), a Lions Fact Book from 1985, 16 assorted team-issued photos from the early-1970s from two different seasons including 1974, with Mike Wilson, Ray Nettles, Monroe Eley, Barry Ardern, Bob Friend, Don Moorhead, Al Wilson, Tom Wilkinson, Jim Young, Garrett Hunsperger, Trevor Ekdahl, Wayne Matherne and a few others, and a pair of BC Place Grey Cup tickets including 2005 (stub) and 2011 (full ticket). The lot also contains two desirable 1971 CFL sticker albums, with one complete with all 225 stickers, while the other has never been used and remains in high grade. The group shows just overall light wear, with the used CFL album sporting added CFL player stickers affixed to the inside front and back covers.
