Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Apprised of the possibility of a trade just a mere two hours after winning the Stanley Cup, Wayne Gretzky was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988 after meeting with owner Bruce McNall and having his conditions met, one of which included both Marty McSorley and Mike Krushelnyski joining the Kings with Wayne. Celebrating his eight seasons in the City of Angels, we have a Kings captain’s jersey signed by The Great One. A vintage CCM model with tackle twill team crest and numbers, with “Gretzky” across the affixed nameplate, Wayne has signed just above, to the right of the team crest in black marker, with the signature displaying nicely, with just a bit of fading to the ink visible. The jersey itself exhibits light overall wear, with a JSA LOA to accompany.
