Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Always an Edmonton Oiler in the hearts of many a hockey fan, Wayne Gretzky made the transition from the Canadian cold in Alberta to the American heat in sunny California in 1988, with his loss felt across our entire hockey-centric nation. This lot offers a trio of Oilers items signed by The Great One including a small stretched canvas by Frameworth and two framed photos. First, the canvas is 11” x 14”, with Wayne signing in silver paint pen, with the large signature flawless. A “Fantasy Camp XIV” logo appears over the lower left, with a small Frameworth logo on the reverse. The framed photos are both 8” x 10”, with one an advertising image from Gillette, signed in blue marker (fading to signature) and matted and framed to 15” x 18”, with a JSA sticker affixed, while the second pictures Wayne with the Stanley Cup, signed in silver and framed to 10 ½” x 13”. We should note wear to the frames, with a JSA Basic certification to accompany the Gillette photo and an LOA from Shawn Chaulk for the lot.
