Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

You’ll have to, at times, pay close attention as we give you the (at times, bizarre) lowdown on this group of baseball card boxes and sets. O-Pee-Chee’s inaugural “Premier” issue of 1991 is represented by three (36-count) foil boxes and one sealed factory set, while ’92 Premier sealed boxes total four, with five (198-card) sealed factory sets also present. Regular OPC card boxes are from ’92 (1) and ’93 (2). Now then, when it comes to ’93 OPC Premier boxes, there are three (36-count) jobs, with packs each featuring eight cards and an insert. Two additional boxes with no printing on the exterior include packs which are markedly “thicker” than the packs in the (one) not-sealed box with printing. We opened one thick pack to discover 13 cards and an insert, despite the foil wrapper mentioning “8 Baseball Cards + 1 Insert Card”. A packaging error, perhaps, with 24 thick packs in one plain white box and 13 in the other. One other white box now includes (22) foil packs with no printing on the wrappers after we opened one to discover eight cards and an insert. Bizarre indeed. Completing the lot is a ’94 OPC box and a little bit of Topps Stadium Club action; a Series 1 box from the 1991 "Premiere Edition", a Series 1 box from ’92 and a partial box (13 packs) of ’92 Series 2 cards.
