Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Saying goodbye for the final time in his unrivaled 20-season career to the hometown fans at Madison Square Garden on April 18, 1999, Wayne Gretzky would conclude the greatest career in hockey history holding 61 NHL records, with his famous “99” the only number retired throughout the league. This signed and framed limited-edition lithograph by noted sports artist Ken Danby has been signed by the iconic superstar. At approx 24” x 30” and wonderfully depicting The Great One waving to the fans with his countenance expertly reproduced, the litho has been signed by Wayne at the base in pencil, with the artist also signing along with the limited-edition number of “96/99” added to the bottom left. Double-matted and framed to approx 32” x 38”, the signatures display well, with the frame ready for prominent display. An LOA from Shawn Chaulk will accompany.
