Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
A fantastic chance to score a run of World Hockey Association cards which constitute a marvelous instant collection, along with some groovy complements, are offered up here, with all of the WHA representatives from O-Pee-Chee’s 1972-73 set leading off the card segment. All of the cards are housed in 9-pocket pages which of course can hide minor flaws and we do spot some intermittent corner dings and the odd crease among the random ’72-73 pulls and stars but overall only light handling is observed, with some original wax stains also to note. EX but miscut is the 336-Bobby Hull card, while an EX 334-Checklist is the “More WHA Hockey Stars” version. A ’74-75 set is sharp, with mostly NM-or-better contributors and an EX-MT 1-The Howes card. The Mark Howe RC in the ’75-76 assembly is EX (OC), with EX to NM appearing to dominate the rest. The ’76-77 and ’77-78 sets look to be comprised of mostly NM-or-better entries, with checklists for all four WHA sets unmarked. Nifty are ’72-73 Los Angeles Sharks (card) and Ottawa Nationals (postcard-like, with original envelope) team sets, with the Phoenix Roadrunners represented by team sets of (blank-backed) cards from ’75-76 and ’76-77. Completing is a set of 20 posters from ’73-74; some slightly curled corners are present but all-in-all, like the rest of the collection, attractive condition is to report. Several options/opportunities await you here.
*One other cool bonus is a crease-free unused ticket to a Monday, October 9, 1972 exhibition game in Ottawa between the Nationals and visiting Winnipeg Jets.
