Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
The rookie card of a generational player, New York Yankee legend Derek Jeter, highlights Topps’ 1993 regular baseball card issue, with a case of the product on the auction block here and sure to garner interest. Several Gem Mint 10 Topps Jeter rookies have realized well over $5,000 in the past year, with Derek’s Topps Gold parallel also a possibility here. The top of the case has been partially opened but there is no evidence of any of the (factory sealed) boxes having been taken out/handled, with Ken Griffey Jr. and Robin Yount appearing on Series 1 box tops and five promotional posters (approximately 10” by 14” when unfolded) still present. With its 825 cards, the ’93 set was the company’s largest to date and for the first time since 1973 Topps released its set in different series, with 396 cards involved in Series 1. The 20 boxes each contain 36 packs, with 15 cards per pack and randomly inserted Black Gold cards comprising the insert set. Time for you to do some ciphering while contemplating this interesting opportunity.
