Earning the first of his 11 NHL career shutouts vs the Winnipeg Jets on Jan 8, 1980, Pat Riggin was presented with the offered “First NHL Win Shut Out” plaque for his efforts, along with this Dave Pinkney Trophy for the best GAA in Major Junior hockey awarded during his time with the London Knights in 1976-77. First, the plaque is 9” x 12” and features a puck mounted along with an engraved plate that lists the particulars including ““First NHL Win Shut Out”, “Pat Riggin”, “January 8, 1980” and “Presented by Atlanta Flames Fan Club” (we are unsure if this is the actual game puck). There is wear and scratches to the engraved plate along with wear to the logo on the mounted puck. The trophy stands 15” and features a generic metal goaltender perched atop a plastic trophy bowl mounted to a tiered wooden base, with the particulars again added to a plaque affixed to the base including “Dave Pinkney Trophy”, “Awarded to the goalkeeper of the team with the best goal against record”, “Pat Riggin” and “london – “1976-77”. There are a few scratches and marks to the trophy and base, with the bowl currently able to swivel on the base.
