Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Forever changing the art form of goaltending as the first netminder to fall to the ice to stop the puck, earning the endearing moniker of “Praying Benny”, Clint Benedict enjoyed a lengthy HOF career with the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Maroons which included backstopping four Stanley Cup championship clubs. We offer a rarely seen vintage framed image of the star keeper. At approx 7 ½” x 10”, the vintage print pictures a smiling Benedict in his 1924-25 inaugural season Montreal Maroons high-neck wool sweater with “Montreal” appliqued across the chest. Set within a dark grey matte, the photo is in a period frame at full dimensions of approx 12 ½” x 15”. There does not appear to be any issues with the photo, with light wear to the frame including a few marks and dings.
