Starring for numerous seasons in a number of leagues including the WHL and USHL before making his NHL debut with the New York Rangers in 1952-53, Gump Worsley had also spent a season as a teenager in the MMJHL with Montreal St. Francis Xavier in 1948-49, the season the offered Bunny Sabbath trophy was presented to the HOFer. At approx 22” in height and featuring two large mounted players including an example topping a set of columns, a metal plaque has been affixed to the three-tier wooden base with engraved particulars including “Bunny Sabbath Trophy”, “Awarded to the Most Valuable Player – Montreal Hockey League 1948-49” and “Won by Lorne Worsley Goal Keeper”. There is surface wear to the base including scratches and chipping along edges, and oxidation to the metal components, with both mounted players able to swivel. The stick has also become detached from the lower-placed player but is included.
