These intriguing vintage printing plates are cardboard-like affairs used to produce newspaper and publication images of the Boston Bruins during the 1930s. Ranging in size from approx 4 1/2" x 5" to 5" x 7 1/2", the majority feature an affixed paper caption on the reverse with the player's name along with a short bio. There is duplication to the group, with printing plates present for Art Ross (3), Tiny Thompson (3), Harry Oliver (3), Eddie Shore (6, with three matching with paper captions and 3 matching without), Lionel Hitchman (3), Dit Clapper (3), George Owen (3) and Marty Barry (3). There are also four unidentified, with one presumable for Cooney Weiland as a loose paper cation for the HOFer is included. The images can be discerned when held at an angle. Most exhibit wear commensurate with their former use, with bends, toning and minor staining, along with some fading to the material.
