"Very Good" is how a grader at PSA viewed this example of Wayne Gretzky's coveted 1979-80 O-Pee-Chee rookie card, with the young Edmonton Oiler phenom very good indeed during his initial season in the NHL. The teenager tied Marcel Dionne with a league-high 137 points, with the L.A. Kings' center winning the Art Ross Trophy thanks to his 53 goals, compared to Wayne's 51. No matter, Gretzky was still named MVP (Hart Trophy) and recipient of the Lady Byng Trophy and would win the scoring title the following seven seasons! With perfect side-to-side centering as an attribute, this Gretz rookie exhibits wear at the four corners, the latter leading to its appropriate VG 3 assessment. The most recent of PSA holders is free of scratches/flaws.
