Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Mostly cards that were inspired by memorable movies are offered up here, with impressive condition adding to the allure. EX-MT to NM-MT cards are the norm in a near set (64/66) of 1975 Planet of The Apes cards, the latter involving the television show. A few duplicates and a dozen (low grade) 1969 O-Pee-Chee examples are also present, while a big ape (King Kong!) stars in a complete 55-card and 11-sticker set put out by Topps in 1976. A 1979 Topps Rocky II set of 99 cards and 22 stickers contributes, with two unopened packs constituting nifty bonuses, with cards produced for the Canadian market by O-Pee-Chee completing the stash and featuring both English and French text. Roger Moore stars as James Bond in a 99-card Moonraker set, with 21 of 22 stickers also present, along with near sets of similar cards (94/99) and stickers (18/22). It was 1981 when Harrison Ford hit the screen in Raiders of the Lost Ark, with a set of 88 OPCs accompanied by a partial set (60/88) and 12 unopened packs. The material from the '70s and '80s exhibits minimal handling and boasts NM-or-better condition. Lots of fun to be had here with these terrific blasts from the past.
