Highlighted by photo-matched gloves worn by Gary Roberts during the 2000-01 regular season and Stanley Cup playoffs with Toronto, this lot also offers a pair of practice jerseys including a Leafs example from the 1990s and a Philadelphia Flyers specimen worn in the 1980s by Rick Tocchet, as well as a display puck with case signed by Patrick Roy. The Roberts gloves are Hespeler models in solid Leafs blue with white accents with “Roberts” in factory graphics over each wrist guard. Light to moderate use is shown with marks and wear to the leather, with a repair patch added to the palm of the right glove. Each has been signed over the thumb sections in black marker. Getty Image #1289301580 (Nov 25, 2000) has been matched to wear line through "Roberts" on the cuff of the left glove, with the dark mark through the "R" of "Hespeler" also visible. The image is also matched to the dark mark at the bottom of the "H" of "Hespeler" on the right glove. Getty Image #591346 (Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals, April 14, 2001) has been matched to the wear line through "Roberts" on the cuff of the left glove, which shows the correct placement. Additionally, Getty Image #1289301744 (Nov 25, 2000) appears to show the dark marks covering the bottom portion of the "H", the first "E" and the bottom of the second "E" of "Hespeler" on the right glove, but the resolution of the image is not high enough to call a definitive photo-match, while Getty Image #165313194 (Nov 5, 2000) appears to show the dark mark covering the bottom portion of the "H" of "Hespeler" on the right glove, but the resolution of the image is not high enough to call a definitive photo-match. Next, the practice jerseys include Maska labeling and “56” sizing for the Leafs jersey along with tackle twill Leafs and CCM crests (great use with heavy discolouration to the collar), while the Flyers jersey has Cooper labeling and XL sizing with “22” handwritten, with a heat-pressed team crest and reverse numbers, with Tocchet signing the first reverse “2”, with bleeding to the signature. Lastly, the puck sports a mounted section with embossed NHL team logos, with Roy signing the reverse in thin gold ink, with wear to the accompanying 3 ½” x 4 ½” case. An LOA from the Leafs will accompany for the gloves.
