Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Finishing in the top spot overall for the first time in a dozen seasons; a single point ahead of Bobby Hull and the Chicago Black Hawks, the Toronto Maple Leafs would defeat both the Montreal Canadiens and Detroit Red Wings in the 1962-63 postseason to claim their 11th Stanley Cup championship. Honouring the members of the winning squad, we offer a desirable Toronto Maple Leafs "World Champions" serving tray in it's original box. Issued by the Canadian chain Dominions, the 10” x 17” tray features the image of hockey's ultimate prize along with the Prince of Wales Trophy, with facsimile signatures of the men who brought the blue and white their second of three consecutive Cup titles engraved, including Tim Horton, Dave Keon and Johnny Bower. The tray exhibits just light handling wear, with a few minor blemishes to the reverse. The original box remains in high-grade showing just very light wear to the cover, with a bit of paper loss and glue residue to the underside of the box bottom. A period newsprint clipping advertising the tray will also accompany.
