Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

Sure to garner interest is this first official O-Pee-Chee postwar issue featuring, for the first time, players in expansion team uniforms, with this ensemble featuring multiple aspects which strike the beholder. The often-seen varying degrees of diamond cuts affect most 1st Series cards, while the new owner will have the option of removing original wax stains from an almost startling amount – we count just over 50, including Beliveau and Mikita. As for condition, you’ll have fun coming across the dozens of crease-free examples and would say VG-EX, EX and EX+ (and a small percentage better) outnumbering VG and VG+ representatives, with not many low graders present. With a clean attractive surface but with a small light crease sending it to VG+ is the #2-Bobby Orr card (diamond cut), with the other Orrs EX (200-All-Star) and VG+ (214-Norris Trophy – vertical factory-produced wrinkle). Rookie cards of Bernie Parent (crease-free VG-EX) and Mickey Redmond (small crease – VG+), 16-Hull (similar to Redmond) and 204-Hull All-Star (EX (OC)) merit mentioning, with 29-Gordie Howe one of the few low grade (P) fillers and 203-Howe All-Star (F) multi-creased. Checklists are marked, with 121-1st Series plagued by numerous creases and 61-2nd Series otherwise VG-EX. Like for us, it’ll be a treat for you to peruse these classic collectibles upon their arrival with, refreshingly, the first 1-Doug Harvey (tiny crease - VG+) and last 216-Provost Masterton Trophy (EX+) cards nicer than what we usually see.
