Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/27/2021
Partial sets of two classic O-Pee-Chee issues are available, with however nothing high grade to report and many of the star/key cards are not present. The lowdown goes as follows: A group of 1971-72s features a majority of cards in the VG to VG-EX range, with lesser lights outnumbering those making it to EX. Orr, Hull, Clarke, Sittler and rookie cards of Dryden, Lafleur and Dionne, as well as Gordie Howe’s Mr. Hockey card are among those required for completion, with two Orr specials (245-Norris/Hart and 251-All-Star) both only F. Both checklists are marked, with #111-1st Series affected by multiple side-to-side and top-to-bottom creases. The Esposito brothers, a second-year Perreault and the special Jean Beliveau card are notable VG or VG+ contributors. Meanwhile, the stack of ’72-73s also has VG to VG-EX cards as a majority, with however considerably more EX-or-better examples to come upon than sub-VG entries, but stars Dryden (P) and Lafleur (F) are among the latter. Orr in Action (#58) is stained and F, with Bobby Hull’s All-Star card (VG) present but not his Winnipeg Jets card. WHA cards total 38 but most tend to be a little rougher than most of the rest. Two checklists (190-2nd Series)(partially marked but crease-free) and 334-3rd Series)(unmarked, multi-creased) are present while the missing cards, with the exception of nine, are numbered 226 and up. The cards have been enjoyed, with still some fun to be had.
