Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

To complete or break will be among your options after you secure this batch of O-Pee-Chee cards from the 1980s, with completing one or more of the ensembles easier if you’re a Wayne Gretzky and rookie card collector, since all of Wayne’s regular issues, as well as the key RCs, account for most of the missing cards. For instance, a Gretz second-year card and three specials (3-Record Breaker, 87-All-Star and 182-Oilers Team Leaders), along with Messier and Gartner rookies are not in the stack of ’80-81s, while a hammered Ray Bourque RC filler is joined by mostly EX to EX-MT examples, although the two Gretzky-related leader cards are rough. Two checklists are marked but the other and the team checklists are not. Cards from ’85-86 are minus Lemieux and MacInnis RCs, Wayne and three league leaders with Gretz, with a Gretzky sticker the only one missing in an ’85-86 Topps sticker insert set (32/33). Mario’s Rookie Scoring Leaders card is EX-MT and you can expect some intermittent varying condition issues amid the rest, with a Topps version substituting for the second-year Yzerman. As you can anticipate, there’s no Patrick Roy rookie in the pile from ’86-87, nor are there Vanbiesbrouck, Clark, Thomas and Suter RCs, Wayne and Mario and two Gretzky leader cards. Again, some corner touches and dings and very few high grade representatives. Gretzky and Hull and Shanahan RCs are not present in the batch of ’88-89s, with again a little something often spotted denying MINT status, although your chances are better with the last gathering.
