Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
The key cards in O-Pee-Chee’s 1980-81 issue here, as the title indicates, have been graded by KSA, with two Ray Bourque rookie cards, a Mark Messier RC and a Wayne Gretzky second-year card all recently scoring 7 NM. Best is a Gretzky at 8 NMM, while the other Messier rookie just missed NM status, being slabbed 6.5 ENM+. The remaining 393 cards in each set are rather easy to sum up; they mirror the encapsulated trio, with NM-or-better appearing to be the norm as we peruse the 9-pocket Ultra Pro pages, pulling the other Gretzky-related entries and some of the more notable rookie cards among the rather large contingent of (70) total RCs. Hall of Famers Gartner, Goulet and Langway are among them, with Liut, Vaive, Craig, Propp, Secord, Nilsson, Ramage, Sevigny, Peeters, Hartsburg, Foligno and Ruff also noteworthy. All checklists and team checklists are unmarked – this stash was well cared for and the big binder will please you upon its arrival as you discover the NM-MT-or better contributors.
