Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
The legacy of earlier clubs that represented one of North America’s oldest cities including the Quebec Bulldogs, the Quebec Nordiques first joined the WHA as an original franchise in 1972 before finally entering the NHL during the 1979 merger. Some of the fiercest battles the sport has ever witnessed were contested by the Nordiques and Montreal Canadiens, including the iconic “Good Friday Massacre” in 1984. Featuring a number of legendary players that have all donned the fleur-de-lys, we offer a huge Stanley Cup replica trophy signed by 17 past Quebec Nordiques. At roughly 25” in height, the silver-colored plastic replica has been signed throughout the lower tiers, with each signature executed in black sharpie, with most adding their number. Signers include Jean-Guy Gendron, Simon Nolet, Alain Cote, Gilbert Delorme, Wally Weir, Dave Pichette, Louis Sleigher, Luc Dufour, Andre Savard, Pierre Lacroix and a few others (a couple signatures may be from players that didn’t play with Quebec).
We should note that Patrick Roy has also signed, adding the number “29” for an unknown reason. The signatures all display beautifully, with light surface wear to the trophy itself. A "Keeper of the Cup" certificate is included, along with white gloves to handle the trophy and a 28” x 29” black nylon NHL tablecloth upon which to set it.
