Worn while hoisting Lord Stanley’s famous Cup to honour the franchise’s most venerated team, the 1985 Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup championship squad were voted by NHL fans as the NHL Centennial Greatest Team, with the members all taking part in a celebration and charity event held on Feb 11, 2018 at Rogers Place. Each player received a vintage-style Oilers replica jersey, with these first worn at the pre-event VIP meet and greet, and were further worn during the first half of the formal event program. Each player hoisted the Stanley Cup over his head thrilling those in attendance while wearing his 1985 replica jersey, with each specimen later offered by the Oilers in an online charity auction. This is the example HOF netminder Grant Fuhr wore at the event, and it’s been signed by the star. A Reebok model with “XXL” sizing and featuring a tackle twill team crest and numbers, the jersey also sports NHL Centennial Greatest Team crests over the reverse neckline and right breast. Fuhr has added a thick white paint pen signature to the reverse “3” that displays well. A hologram from the Oilers numbered “15046” has been affixed, with a matching LOA to accompany.
