Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Opening its doors in 1974 and serving as the home of the Edmonton Oilers for almost half a century, Northland Coliseum – later recognized as Edmonton Coliseum, Skyreach Centre, and Rexall Place - hosted seven Stanley Cup finals as well as many other hockey and sporting events, including the 1981 and 1984 Canada Cup hockey tournaments. The final Oilers game was played at the historic building on April 6, 2016, and we offer a puck used in the concluding contest signed by superstar Connor McDavid. Seeing action during the third period of the contest, the puck sports “Farewell Season” graphics on the front along with the April 6th date, with both a label with the particularities and a hologram (#11967) added by the Oilers to the reverse. McDavid has signed the obverse in silver paint pen, with the signature displaying well. The 8” x 10” photo and custom display case mentioned in the accompanying Oilers LOA are not included with the lot.
