Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A cultural landmark event that reinforced Canada’s hockey supremacy, the 1972 Summit Series featured the best the mighty maple leaf could muster, taking on a strong, disciplined Soviet squad that were a formidable match for any team. This framed photo display has been signed by seven members of Team Canada. At 16” x 20” and picturing the club in the traditional on-ice team pose, the players are listed beneath, with “Team Canada 1972” across the base. All eight have signed over the image in matching thin blue marker, including HOF members Yvan Cournoyer, Marcel Dionne, Guy Lapointe and Serge Savard, along with Dennis Hull, Pete Mahovlich and Wayne Cashman. The signatures present beautifully, with the photo double-matted and a name plaque and pins inserted beneath, framed to full dimensions of approx 25 ½” x 31 ½”. A COA from Classic Auctions has been affixed to the reverse of the frame.
