Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/26/2021
Transporting the most famous trophy in sports, the Stanley Cup remains the oldest trophy competed for in North America, with the first awarding of the Dominion Hockey Challenge Cup occurring in 1893, and we offer a unique, one-of-a-kind association piece to the most venerated of all awards, with the actual HOF travel case used to transport the cherished and historic trophy. At approx 22” x 21” x 39” and featuring wood construction with metal hardware and bracing, there are remnants of two labels over the top with “Hockey Hall of Fame”, with the original Exhibition Place address listed (The HOF was located at EP from 1961 until being relocated in 1993). Additional shipping labels are affixed to the case, with the interior showing the shape formed to hold the Cup, with heavier wear from use as expected, but no unsightly damage (the door currently sits slightly ajar from a bent hinge). Don't miss out on owning a true piece of hockey history with the actual transporter of the iconic Stanley Cup.
