Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Still more colorful beauties to consider here, with 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee cards featuring memorable color borders; red in the 1st Series and green in the 2nd Series, with each involving 132 cards. Once again, eight cards and a stick of gum along with an insert could be had for 10 cents or empty bottles or a combination of the two amounting to that. An appealing 1st Series pack here received Mint 9 recognition at GAI and contains a team logo insert. Most of the big names of the day appeared in the first series as did, for the first time, team cards, while rookie cards of Larry Robinson, Billy Smith, Dave Schultz and Terry O'Reilly were 2nd Series entries, with packs including a push-out team crest ring and the pack here graded NM-MT 8. A tempting combo from our consignor's fascinating stash, with scratches to the GAI holders to mention and (more evident on the 1st Series pack). Oh, you may also like to know that the back of a Serge Savard card shows on the bottom of the 1st Series pack, while the front of the example showing through the bottom of the 2nd Series pack is that of....Larry Robinson's rookie card!
