Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2021

A dandy trip back to the 1970s is offered here, with Canada’s “Team of the Century” featured on O-Pee-Chee insert cards from ’72-73 and displaying quite well; we spot a light crease in just one card (Stapleton). However, only a few are without a notorious factory-produced flaw or two; with varying degrees of pinhole-like prick marks or sliced “lines” (Dryden) observed. Otherwise, the cards average in the EX vicinity and are joined by a complete 396-card set from ’74-75. You know, the one with rookie cards of several Hall of Famers. A crease or two send key RCs of Bowman, Cherry, Potvin, Salming, McDonald and Shutt, along with 100-Orr to the VG neighborhood, with Dryden (P) with back damage but there are plenty of crease-free VG-EX and EX-or-better cards to come upon; they combine to appear to be the majority and you’ll enjoy discovering the intermittent EX-MTs and NMs. Checklists are marked and/or heavily creased but there are some unmarked team checklists. A fabulous complement is a classic “skate” bottle opener in Canadiens colors that has survived in bright, impressive condition. Some white specks on the toe area are not what you’ll be zeroing-in on! Neat stuff from the good old ‘70s awaits.
