Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Hockey's all-time greatest point-producer and one of the sport's all-time greatest ambassadors, Wayne Gretzky was still a teenager when he was featured on O-Pee-Chee and Topps cards for the first time, but had already proven that he could play at the pro level, putting up 110 points in the World Hockey Association. But how would he do in the NHL? Well, 51 goals while leading the league in assists was a good start in 1979-80 and just two seasons later, Wayne potted an unthinkable 92 goals and 212 points! Iconic card of a hockey icon is #18 from '79-80, with this OPC version inspected and graded 5 EX by KSA. Dings and wear at three corners, along with an image right of center are obvious. An obvious necessity for serious hockey card collectors is a Gretz rookie, with this one awaiting your bid. We do not spot any scratches/flaws when examining the KSA holder.
