Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A draft choice of the Los Angeles Kings during Wayne Gretzky’s earlier time with the club in 1990, goaltender David Goverde first guarded OHL nets for both Windsor and Sudbury before considerable time in numerous leagues, with a total of 5 NHL games played spread over parts of three seasons. This late-1980s Sudbury Wolves #1 jersey has been attributed to the Toronto native during his time with the club in 1988-89/1989-90. A Maska Ultrafil label is affixed to the collar along with an embroidered CCM crest on the reverse hem, with the jersey measuring-out to roughly a size “54”. Styled with a multi-coloured team crest with “Sudbury” and “Wolves” applied in single white twill, “1” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with no nameplate over the upper reverse. Nice game-use is exhibited, with a few large slits over the front along with areas of red paint transfer on the left sleeve and over the reverse number.
