Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A member of both the Boston Bruins and Atlanta Flames for numerous seasons, Bob Leiter played his final year of pro hockey with Calgary during their inaugural WHA season, and we offer a Cowboys jersey worn by the Winnipeg native in 1975-76 - a rare single-season style! An early Maska label is affixed to the collar, along with a laundering tag with “48” sizing. Featuring a layered red and white tackle twill team crest, “18” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in matching material, with “Leiter" chain-stitched in red across the affixed nameplate (this is not the original nameplate and was added later, with these jerseys originally recycled to the Kamloops Cowboys). A small loop-style fight strap is also intact. Sporting nice game-use, the durene sweater has a number of dark marks present along with some puckering to the team crest, with a few small holes encompassing the team crest. A few holes over the left sleeve are also visible, with blue paint transfer on the lower reverse and right sleeve.
