Later dubbed "Super Mario," Montreal native Mario Lemieux did not disappoint in his first NHL campaign following his record-breaking junior career with the Laval Voisins, his rookie season statistics of 43 goals and an even 100 points appearing here on the back of this alluring 1985-86 Topps rookie card. The young star then thoroughly impressed his peers with 141 points (second only to Gretzky) in his second big league season ('85-86), evidenced by them voting Lemieux recipient of the Lester B. Pearson Trophy as the league's outstanding player as selected by the NHL Players' Association, ending a four-year run by Edmonton's #99. This example of card #9 recently merited NM-MT 8 recognition from PSA, with a touched top left corner denying an even higher mark. No marks or scratches to the PSA holder are observed - you'll be pleased when this beauty is delivered.
