Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Well remembered for his thundering slap shot, arguably one of the hardest the sport has ever witnessed, defenceman Al MacInnis was a seven-time All-Star with a pair of Stanley Cup championships won as both a player and executive. This signed stick was used by the star during the late-1990s with St Louis, circa 1998-99, the era of his James Norris Trophy win. A Sher-Wood PMPX 9950 model, “MacInnis 2” factory graphics appear over the upper shaft, with “Handcrafted Exclusively for Al MacInnis” on the underside and “St Louis” stamped to the lower shaft. The original white spiral tape pattern is intact over the handle, with the blade tape removed to facilitate the large black marker signature that displays well. The stick exhibits just light game-use, with tape residue on the upper shaft just below the taped handle. The NHL striping accent is also intact.
