Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

The key card in Topps’ condition sensitive 1962-63 set, that of Bobby Hull, leads the mostly crease-free condition parade here, looking mighty fine in a PSA holder labeled NM 7. Bobby had scored 50 goals and won the scoring championship the previous season, while ironically, Bronco Horvath, the man Hull narrowly beat for his first Art Ross Trophy in ’59-60, also appears in PSA NM 7 form. The encapsulated trio also includes 5-Leo Boivin (EX-MT 6), with some similarly inviting cards among the raw rest. We see seven NM commoners, with 14 others appearing EX-MT or a tad higher, notably 44-Black Hawks Team (OC) and 45-Worsley. At EX or in the vicinity (VG-EX+, EX+) are 16, including 1-Watson (EX+) and Hall of Famers Hall, Pilote, Howell, Bathgate and Ratelle, the latter better than “GAG Line” linemates Gilbert (VG+) and Hadfield RC (VG). Noteworthy among others (mostly VG, VG+ and VG-EX) are Mikita (VG), 3-Gamble RC (VG-EX), 11-Bucyk (VG), 22-Bruins Team (VG+), Rangers Team (G) and the (unmarked) checklist (G). A nifty bonus is a Hockey “Buck” insert of Leo Boivin (multiple light creases), while some scratches to the front of the Hull PSA holder are also to mention, along with the appreciated problem-free backs throughout.
