Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021

Close to three-quarters of Parkhurst’s landmark and desirable 1951-52 card set on the block here constitutes a swell opportunity, with ten encapsulated examples to tell you about first, all of them rookie cards. A trio of Rangers graded EX-MT 6 by PSA include 92-Kraftcheck, 101-Kullman and 102-Slowinski, while at EX 5 is 43-Gee. Better known to hockey historians and slabbed VG-EX 4 are 19-Sugar Jim Henry, 51-Babando, 62-Stasiuk and 83-Mackell. Assessed by KSA are 9-MacKay (7 NM) and 27-Sullivan (6 ENM). Most of the key rookie cards are not present in a stack of raw cards but we consider the rather uniform condition pleasing, with only ten-or-so cards with an obvious crease present and VG to VG-EX cards dominating and some making it to EX. Backs for the most part are problem-free, with evidence of a half-dozen once having been affixed but well removed/cleaned. Most notable cards are 52-The Winning Goal (VG with minor back stain) and rookie cards of 26-Quackenbush (VG-EX), 47-Lumley (VG), 49-Mosienko (VG-EX), 56-Lindsay (VG+), 63-Delvecchio (VG+), 68-Pronovost (VG), 94-Stanley (VG-EX) and 104-Rayner (G). A notable EX entry is that of 29-Schmidt, with Hall of Famers 53-Stewart (VG-EX+ (ST)) and 81-Bentley (VG) also present, as is 105-Conacher RC (F). We expect the winning bidder to be pleased with his/her winnings.
