Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Issued by the soft drink giant during the mid-1960s near the conclusion of the famed Original Six era, we have a great collection of Coca-Cola premiums including a complete set of 1965-66 cards (108) in undetached team sets as well as an album, along with both 1964-65 Coke (66) and the much harder Sprite (16) bottle caps. First, the cards remain in attached accordion-style 18-card team sets, with each set showing light handling wear, with the outside cards showing a bit more wear including to the corners along with the odd crease. The album shows moderate to heavier wear including discolouration and creases to the cover along with a few small edge tears to the spine, with toning to the interior pages. There is also text written in the “autograph” section along with a glued photo. The Coke and Sprite bottle caps show heavy wear with most sporting surface scratches and bends, with a number showing spotting. Keys for the Coke caps include Howe (surface bend with blemish), Sawchuk (2, indentations and scratches to both), Horton (surface dent), and Plante (heavy surface wear), while the keys for the Sprite caps include P Espo (clean with a few small marks) and Plante (heavy surface wear).
