Appropriate for those of you not all that concerned about condition is this pieced-together Topps set, with nevertheless a dozen-or-so crease-free or sharp-looking cards to come upon, with a majority of those for some reason featuring Black Hawks. A one-inch back crease in a lower corner sends Stan Mikita to VG+ but “Stosh” is still rather pleasant to look at, as are 30-Wharram, 38-Hillman RC, the Hawks team card and Rangers’ coach Doug Harvey. Rod Gilbert (F-G) slightly edges a scuffed-up Jean Ratelle (F) among the important rookie cards, while Bobby Hull (P-F) is also amid the least attractive group (P-F) totaling 18 and including a multi-creased and marked checklist. The others (30) are better and in the G to VG range, with 1-Watson, Bucyk, Worsley, Bathgate, Howell and three action cards notable, as well as RCs of Bruins Green, Kurtenbach and Stapleton. Also noteworthy is a card of New York’s Red Sullivan, autographed in bold black marker.
