Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Some roughed-up superstar cards are among the varied lot comprising this 1959-60 Topps set, with the rough and gruff Bobby Hull autographing his card in blue marker (adding “#16”) and the rough and tough Ted Lindsay penning a silver ink signature (and “7”) to his. A rather heavy top-to-bottom crease hampers the Hull card, while the Lindsay example (VG+) has a subtle light back crease. Gordie Howe, Terry Sawchuk and Johnny Bucyk entries are among a dozen hammered (P) representatives, but there are plenty of decent contributors. Five EX-or-better include 44-Pronovost and two action cards, while 32-Glenn Hall (VG+) is joined by two dozen at VG or VG+, including HOFers Pilote, Delvecchio, Howell, Boivin, Flaman, Bathgate, Gadsby and Kelly. The remainder (21) exhibit obvious creases and/or corner wear sending them to the F-G range, with Worsley, Ullman, Shack and Howe in action notable and accompanied by mostly commons.
