Instrumental in helping to open the doors to North America for future players as one of the first European-born players to grace the NHL, Borje Salming played with Brynäs IF in his native Sweden before making his NHL debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1973-74. The King would play the overwhelming majority of his HOF career in Ontario, and we offer a Leafs jersey worn by the six-time All-Star in 1979-80. A Maska Superfil label is affixed to the collar, with the vintage durene sweater measuring-out to roughly a size 50-52. Styled with the classic Leafs team crest with “Toronto Maple Leafs” fully-embroidered, “21” is sewn to the sleeves and verso in single twill, with “Salming” across the affixed nameplate in matching material. There are also Maska logos screened to the front and reverse hem, alternate crests over each shoulder and a loop-style fight strap. Sporting great game-use, there is wear to the material throughout including marks, burns, pulls and scrapes, with pilling to the interior sleeves. Team repairs are also present, with examples situated on the front (2) and sleeves (8).
