Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
West coast WHL clubs representing both sides of the border are featured in this lot, with a pair of jerseys from the 1990s offered, including a Portland Winterhawks specimen worn by Layne Roland in 1992-93, and a Victoria Cougars jersey worn by Graeme Harder in 1993-94. First, the Portland jersey is almost identical to that of the Chicago Black Hawks including the Indian head team crest, with this despite the team not having an affiliation with the NHL club. Maska labeling is affixed to the collar along with a size “54” fly tag, with tomahawk crests over the shoulders and the 75th anniversary Memorial Cup patch sewn to the right breast. Heavy game-use is exhibited on the jersey, with marks, scrapes and burns over the front and sleeves, with small slits/holes over the lower right sleeve and right shoulder. The Victoria jersey sports a size “52” fly tag affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and CHL crests over the reverse hem. Styled with a Cougars twill team crest with embroidered detailing, “7” appears over the sleeves and verso in layered tackle twill. Moderate game-use is shown on the solid white jersey, with puck and stick marks littering the front, reverse and sleeves.
