Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Going "all the way" in 1972-73 were the Canadiens, with our consignor going almost all the way on a master '72-73 O-Pee-Chee ensemble and a pretty fun binder to flip through offered here. We cannot inform of high grade material but cards and inserts display rather well, with minimal/not obvious creases. Light to moderate corner dings/wear render a majority in the VG+, VG-EX and VG-EX+ realm, with smaller percentages of VG-or-lower and EX-or-better present. Nicest tend to be cards numbered from 210 to 289. Keys include 129-Orr (VG-EX), 59-Lafleur (VG), 336-Hull (EX+), Dryden (VG) and 58-Orr Action (VG-EX+). The few variations are not present, with "More WHA Stars" representing checklist #334 (unmarked VG) and #19 (VG+) the other unmarked entry, while #s 6 and 190 are marked but crease-free. Among the inserts, notorious factory-produced imperfections are intermittent, with team logos of the Flames (VG) and Islanders (VG+) contributing to a full NHL set, while missing WHA logos are those of the Cougars, Crusaders, Oilers, Fighting Saints, Whalers and Jets. Check out the images of the important components - '72-73 was a cool year for hockey cards!
