Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Seeing pro hockey action throughout an amazing five decades, Gordie Howe and his epic longevity will go unmatched in any sport, with his 32 seasons of play a record for the ages. This lot includes a collection of Howe items totaling eight and highlighted by a trio of signed specimens. First, we have a Red Wings jersey produced by CCM with “XXL” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with Howe placing a thin silver signature to the reverse “9”, adding “HOF 1972”, with the signature flawless. Next, we have a Red Wings puck signed in silver, followed by a 1958 Star Weekly newsprint picture with Ullman and Delvecchio signed in blue marker (Ullman also signed), set in a 11 ½” x 14 ½” frame. The unsigned items include two different pairs of Howe Truline signature model knee pads – with each showing light to moderate use, and three pairs of Howe endorsed skates including two in their original boxes, with an Eatons pair from the 1960s in NOS condition (heavy wear and damage to the box) and two pairs of unused 1980s Magnum 975 skates – one pair for a small child with no box, and an adult-sized pair in the original box (light to moderate wear). A hologram has been affixed to the jersey, with a matching COA to accompany.
