Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
A Stanley Cup champion four times throughout the 1960s, Frank Mahovlich played in each and every NHL All-Star contest from 1959 until and including 1974, missing just 1966. We have a group of items signed by the 1981 HOF inductee totaling three, with a jersey, multi-signed framed photo and vintage skates. First, the vintage-style acrylic/cotton jersey was produced by CCM to simulate wool, with a felt team crest and tackle twill numbers, with The Big M signing the reverse “2” in blue marker, adding his moniker and “HOF-1981” to the flawless autograph. Next, the photo is a black and white 8” x 10” game-action image, with seven signing in blue sharpie including Mahovlich, and fellow HOFers Marcel Pronovost, Allan Stanley, Red Kelly and Norm Ullman, along with Bob Nevin and Vic Stasiuk, framed to 11” x 12 ½”. Lastly, the vintage skates are circa 1950s/60s Biltrite Special models by MC Inc, with very light wear to the pair, with Mahovlich signing the right skate in silver, adding “#27” and “HOF 81”. Holograms have been affixed to the jersey and skates, with COAs to accompany.
