This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
One of the all-time most beloved Montreal Canadiens, Jean Beliveau received countless honours and awards throughout his legendary HOF career, with many coming as an ambassador after his playing days concluded. This lot features eight Beliveau items including framed photos, a limited-edition “Art Ross” notation jersey, gloves and skates, with four signed. First, we have a Canadiens jersey produced by Reebok with “XL” sizing and tackle twill team crest and numbers, with big Jean placing a white paint pen signature to the reverse “4”, adding “Art Ross 1956”. The limited-edition number of “53/444” has been handwritten beneath the notation, with the signature displaying well. Next, the signed photo displays include a modern 8” x 10” print of a vintage image of Beliveau with other Habs, signed in blue sharpie, with Dickie Moore also signing, framed to 12” x 15”, followed by modern 16” x 20” colour print with the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe, signed in blue sharpie, with “Stanley Cup 1965” and “Conn Smythe 1965” notations, framed to 20” x 24”. The unsigned examples include a vintage framed calendar page (14” x 17” with heavy wear), a small framed wire photo (8 ½” x 10”), and a framed postcard (6” x 8 ½”). Rounding out the lot, the skates are vintage 1930s/40s Daoust models sporting heavy use, with Jean signing the right skate in silver, with a smudge to the signature. Lastly, the gloves are NSG Featherlite boys models in Habs colours with Beliveau facsimile signatures, with moderate wear to the pair. A Belveau Authentic hologram has been affixed to the jersey, with a matching COA to accompany.
