Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Spring 2021
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/30/2021
Signed items from one of the most beloved and successful all-time Montreal Canadiens players is offered, with a collection of five signed and framed photos, a signed pair of vintage skates and signed personal golf bag all featuring the Pocket Rocket, Henri Richard. First, the 1970s Power-Bilt orange and black leather golf bag was produced by Louisville bat maker Hillerich & Bradsby, with “Henri Richard” custom graphics in white, along with plastic tags affixed from tournaments including the Habs 3rd annual golf tournament. Richard added a black marker tag beneath his name graphics, with the signature worn and faded slightly, while the bag exhibits great use with no damage. Next, the skates are vintage 1940s Beaver models that exhibit moderate use, with Henri signing the outside of the left skate in silver. The framed signed photos include a Sports Illustre example from 1969, signed in silver (17” x 24”), a second Sports Illustre image from the 1970s signed by Richard and Dan Bouchard (17 ½” x 25”), a modern black and white print with Maurice signed in blue ink (10 ¼” x 12 ¼”), a La Patrie newspaper front page from 1957 signed in blue ink (12 ½” x 16 ½”) and a small newsprint image signed in blue ballpoint (6 ½” x 8 ½”).
